HAPPY 2023 TO YOU!

learning to love the skin we are in

We are greeting the new year with some opportunities to discover some of our best living. 


If you've had a chance to reflect on 2022, I can't wait to hear your observations of where you've been and where you are going.


What I discovered in my reflections is the basis for the LOVE YOUR BODY PROJECT kicking off this week.

How the LOVE YOUR BODY PROJECT came to be...

“Get comfortable with yourself, Jill,” I wrote in a post just the other day.


"Get comfortable being uncomfortable. But only uncomfortable because of self-limiting beliefs and old stories."


I talked about how my family health history requires me to work towards my best health every day, and how there are still things about my body that I can't change no matter how much working out or eating well I do.


I recalled being in a community where I was doing some educational training last year where I was in awe of the general "body confidence" I saw.


"It made me think about our Energy Lab mission statement 'to be a beacon of light for hope and self-love'.


I questioned that I was missing that self-love piece by not being comfortable in my skin. And if I’m going to preach it, I better be able to do it. 


I challenged myself to dress like my new friends in this yoga community I discovered. To trust the building of my confidence, and to let go of the hiding. I found myself scrutinizing, and then reminding myself of all the hard work I put into taking care of myself and that I should celebrate it… besides the fact that my body has done some pretty amazing things ~ having babies, running a business, holding me while I held my mom's hand in her last days, and sharing the gifts of movement with countless people."


This shifted from being a personal journey to one that I invite you to travel with me...


"It’s been my own journey until the other day when I gifted a friend a crop yoga top, and shared with her my experience of learning to let go of judgment with myself, and to rock the crop yoga tops. She told me she wanted to, but might have work to do."


And so it began!


We might all have work to do! It might be physical or the inner work of confidence!


It might be nutritional or the people we are surrounding ourselves with. 


I am 💯 percent IN to do the work. It’s important. Our kids are watching ❤️

If you're looking for a sign, this is it!

THE LOVE YOUR BODY PROJECT INCLUDES:


  • 6 week challenge + 2 bonus weeks
  • Starting Jan 9 sign up in the studio onto a team/solo/create-a-team AND via the link or at the front desk. This is the 1st bonus week of classes if not already a member AND time to get organized and body composition scheduled
  • January 16 is the official start of 6 weeks with a 5:30 pm kick-off workout party in The Fort
  • The challenge itself is based on self-evaluation and setting personal goals reflective of getting comfortable in our confidence, self-love, body image, and "the skin we are in" PLUS using checklists and accountability for nutrition and movement and best practices and rituals that support healthy mindsets, hearts, relationships, strength, and living!
  • If you can't come in for classes, you will have access to our entire ON DEMAND library along with any classes you can come to. Movement done outside does count on your movement checklists
  • This is about loving the skin we are in and honoring the stories and experiences that our bodies have carried us through.
  • February 28 is the last day of our 6 weeks, and time to schedule 2nd body composition. It is also the beginning of moving forward with all the practices created to support your healthiest self!
  • March 8 is International Women's Day and the day we will celebrate with our finale workout party!
  • There will be several pop-up classes just for you along with access to all classes at The Energy Lab and at The Fort PLUS several surprises along the way!


This PROJECT is one of the most important projects you will ever do. The next generation and our children are watching us. We are responsible for how they view their bodies and the acceptance, confidence, ease of living in their skin OR lack of acceptance, confidence, and ease of living in their skin. We can help shape the future through our daily actions. Inspire someone. Make ourselves proud. Re-write stories and narratives that have been handed down to us.

PS- I am especially thankful to our members who shared input and talked for hours to conceptualize and create this, to my friend Johannah who inspired me to learn to love the skin I am in, to Natalie, my daughter for her confidence and vulnerability, to our team, teachers, and coaches who believe in you and are cheering you on, to YOU for saying YES to yourself and the little girl inside who loves you.
